What Your Fund Supports
Your support is critical to the patients at Calvert Memorial Hospital. Every dollar raised goes to support the hospital. Your gifts have supported numerous causes such as those listed below.
Mobile Health Center
The Mobile Health Center was graciously funded by our donors and will travel to underserved areas of our community to bring essential primary care services, dental, and prevention and wellness programs to residents who do not have access to traditional health care. While the Mobile Health Center will serve the entire community, it is part of a broader effort by Calvert Memorial Hospital to shift the focus from “sick care” to “health care” where the long-term strategy is to provide education, outreach, and support to help people stay healthy to reduce the onset of disease and those with chronic illnesses manage them more effectively.
Sheldon E. Goldberg Center for Breast Care
Opened in 2010, the Sheldon E. Goldberg Center for Breast Care provides access for patients to an experienced team of breast health experts and the most sophisticated technology available locally. Serving almost 900 patients annually, your gifts have helped support a number of initiatives including equipment, expanded facilities and patient financial assistance.
Thanks to our donors, the radiology expansion became a reality by contributing funds toward the renovation of existing space as well as the 3,300-square-foot addition that houses more than $3 million in new state-of-the-art imaging equipment. Now patients can expect an enhanced check-in area for all patients arriving for diagnostic testing and new imaging equipment for cardiovascular interventional, digital radiology, nuclear medicine, CT scanning, and vascular ultrasound that includes the latest safety features.
The state-of-the-art Centrifuge Unit was funded by our donors to provide advanced technology which will help speed patient results to physicians for the diagnosis and treatment of everything from diabetes and heart disease to various types of cancer.
Funded by our generous donors, the GetWell Network is an interactive educational system that provides individualized patient teaching tools and videos at the patient bedside throughout hospitalization. This state-of-the-art technology allows nurses and physicians to electronically supplement their verbal teaching with videos and interactive questionnaires to verify patient and family understanding.
