The CalvertHealth Foundation Scholarship Fund provides tuition assistance to students who are pursuing higher education in medicine and allied health fields. The Foundation has awarded more than 367 scholarships totaling more than $485,000 to area students pursuing higher education in medicine and allied health fields. The due date for applications are April 30th. Monies are awarded in July.
Funded by a generous endowment from the Calvert Arundel Medical Facilities, Inc., this scholarship supports the continuing education efforts of local students in pursuit of their chosen allied health field.
Applications for an Allied Health Scholarship are due by April 30 of each year. In order to apply, you must be a full-time student who has been accepted at an accredited school of nursing or other allied health curriculum offering a course of study leading to licensure as a practical or registered nurse or other allied-health related classification.
- Open to residents of Calvert, Charles, St. Mary’s and Anne Arundel counties
- Preference is given to residents of Calvert and Anne Arundel
- Applicants must have been a resident of Maryland for at least one year
- Recipients are not required to repay the Foundation or accept employment

The E. Anne Spitzer, MD Memorial Scholarship was created in 1988 with funding by friends, family and the Calvert County Medical Society in honor of the late family medicine physician.
